Performance Flight has evolved into a leader in flight training and aviation services. While most people are familiar with the services offered to individual clients, we’ve also got our hands in projects aimed at improving the industry.
In 2008 we began the creation of our own proprietary syllabus for learning to fly. Other products were all fairly similar and too general. But, more importantly, they didn’t take into consideration habit patterns learned from the beginning. Also, the modules were too broad, leaving room for individual interpretation.
So we created the Private Pilot Plus program, a syllabus consisting of 81 modules with a heavy focus on Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM) and strong habit patterns. The program has been very well received by clients, and has also earned a great deal of attention from industry leaders.
This project then evolved into the creation of our Masters Series through which we aim to provide new training goals. We want to give pilots good reasons to fly while improving their skills in defined areas. Seeing how many pilots were lacking purpose, we set out to make it fun and educational.
In 2010 we were invited to develop the Advanced course at the Cirrus Instructor Symposium, an annual event hosted by the manufacturer. This two-day course focused on the successful operation of an aviation company and was created and taught by Performance Flight staff. The reception was terrific and we’ve been invited to do this again.
We’ve worked with several other operators and individuals offering unique areas of aviation expertise. In the future we’ll continue to grow these programs and provide additional industry resources.
